Pigtails!!

When I picked Keira up from daycare Friday they had fixed her hair up in pigtails! Oh. My. Gosh. She looked so darn CUTE! I loved it. She will definitely be sporting those a lot!!

We had a nice play date over @ Chris & Chasity's Saturday!

Yes, she was Supergirl today. This is what she we wore to daycare this morning --along w/black hose and black patent leather dress shoes. I guess we will have no problem w/Halloween this year! haha!!

Labor Day Recap.

Busy. Busy. Busy. I am behind once again! Here is the recap from our Labor Day weekend! My cousin Josie had her bridal shower. Keira will be the flower girl in November. Yipeee...should be very interesting! I'm sure she will do great and the dress is absolutely adorable!! She is sure to be a crowd pleaser...hehe! It was a great day and we had a blast!

We met up w/my friend Jen and her little girl Haleigh. Haleigh is a month older than Keira -- this was their first meeting. They became fast friends. We enjoyed the morning!

We went to a Japanese steakhouse - Fusion - for dinner one evening. It was Keira's first time eating @ one of these places. She got kind of freaked out when they lit the fire:

The food was excellent. We had a great time!!

My Aunt Lynn was in from Maine for my cousin Josie's bridal shower. She got Keira these groovy gladiator shoes!

She LOVED them, of course!

1st Time Fishin!

We took Keira fishing for the first time Friday evening. I knew she would love it! However, she was more interested in playing w/the worms...

She didn't catch any fish....but Daddy did...she loved petting each one before he threw them back in and watching them swim away!

33 and counting...

I turned 33 on August 18th. Wow! Where does the time go? Time seems like it is just flying by lately! Keira is getting so big....almost daily! We celebrated going to dinner @ one of my fave restaurants - Rocco's. Great little italian place! Chasity and I go every year because her birthday is August 20th - this year her husband Chris and my friend Billy joined us. Darin stayed home w/Keira - what a great hubby! hehe! The food was excellent and the Chianti even better! It was a great evening and birthday!

My old college buddy, Eric, who resides in Colorado now came through for a pit stop! It has been about 2 years since the last time I've seen him. Keira was about 6 months old. We had a nice evening of catching up, grilling and playing w/Keira. Times have changed since the college days....haha!! His jack russell Maddie was so cute!! Safe travels my friend!!

More Pool Fun!

We went swimming last Sunday. Boy was it a scorcher! She stayed in the water most of the time. Almost swimming! Very exciting!

Tutu Freak!

Keira loves tutus! She has several now! The phenomenon started back in April when my Grandma sent her one for Easter! She opted to wear her pink one (courtesy of my Mom) to Tanner's 6th birthday bowling party! Only she could pull this off! haha!

My friend Lee made her this handmade one! It is very cool. Very poofy and princessy! She is sassy in it!!!!

When we got to the porch she saw the box and said look -- Grandma sent me a present!! hehe! I said no, this if from Mommy's friend Lee. She had fun opening it!!! (ignore my annoying voice and jealous kona!!)

Enjoying my last night of being 32!! Off to watch Horton Hears a Who!! Happy Happy Joy Joy! ha!

And yes, the microphone did come home w/us!! We have been getting entertained since last night!! AWESOME purchase! AND.....it was $1.45!! Gotta love it!

Pignuts and Dogs!

What is a pignut? That is exactly what my friend Lee asked when I posted this on facebook! ha! I asked Granny and she said that they were really bitter and since we couldn't eat them the farmers fed them to their pigs. I decided to google it of course - because that's what I do. haha! I found a bit more info:

The fruit is a peach-shaped nut that is 1 ¼" long. It is thick walled, unridged, and encased in a thin husk that only splits half way open. On the inside of fallen nuts, when split open, resemble the snout of a pig.

The pignut hickory nuts are important in the diets of squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons, black bears, foxes, rabbits, birds, smaller rodents, and whitetail deer.

Interesting. She did have something about a pig in there!!! hehe!!

She ran around, got Lucky kisses and took a stroll in the wagon...

We finally had a nice weekend! This rain can depart anytime now! Keira had a blast @ the pool. She really loves the water! It was a great way to start off August!

After she got tired of the kiddie area she was ready for the big pool! She is too funny! I am not really sure what she is yelling in some of it but she counts a lot and it sounds like this:

1...2...3...6...7...9...10 and then she jumps!

This is HYSTERICAL! Listen for the lifguards to whistle...never take your eyes off of your kid...haha!
