Jump Zone!

I took Keira to this new inflatable place called the Jump Zone over the weekend!  She had a blast!  Since last week I have decided no more pullups!  The only thing she was doing was peeing in them occassionally.  Most of the time she was using the potty.  She had a few accidents the first couple days but she has been doing GREAT in big girl panties!  The Jump Zone trip confirmed that she is most definitely potty trained!!  I wanted to try and put a pullup on her when we got there because I was afraid she would get excited, preoccupied etc.  to worry about going potty.  She WOULD NOT put one on --- so I let her keep her big girl panties on.  Well, she stopped playing twice and ran up to me and said she had to go potty.  I was ecstatic!!!  This is so exciting!  She has been doing awesome @ school as well.  It feels good!!!  

Yes, she also insisted on wearing her tutu!  I did get a pair of shorts on her eventually!  Lately, a few people have told me she reminds them of Punky Brewster!  ha!  Cool.  I loved her!  We washed my car when we got home.  She had a ring pop from the Jump Zone and she LOVED that thing!  haha!

Summertime!

We enjoyed the weekend hanging out @ Chasity's!  She got a new pool for the kids so we went over to swim and play Sat and Sun!  They had a ball.  

Day 1

Chasity cooked dinner and I FINALLY got to watch Twilight!  I really liked it, however, I always like the books better when it comes to that.  Edward is HOT though!  I find Jacob to be  more my type.  I am more than half-way through Eclipse (3rd book).  This is a really good series.  I did not think I would like it but am so glad I took the plunge!  haha!  The next movie, New Moon (2nd book), looks awesome!  Can't wait till November!!

Day 2

Darin put up the hammock we got in Mexico while I was gone!  It is SWEET!!  Very relaxing.......aside from Kona's barking!!

WAY TO GO PENS!!  What another GREAT game!!  I knew they would win both @ home.  I think they have the momentum to win the Stanley Cup this year!  So excited.  We'll get @ least 2 more stellar games of hockey this season.

Old Friends Reunite!

WOW!  What a great Memorial Day weekend we had!  Keira and I headed home to visit my family.  We enjoyed seeing everyone - all Grandparents and all Great Grandparents!  I am so blessed and lucky to have both sets of my Grandparents!  It is really awesome for them to be a part of Keira's life!!  

I met up w/some of my old roommates from WVU Saturday night!!  We went to TJ's Sports Bar and watched the PENS whip up on the Canes and shot some pool.  It was a great evening w/lots of laughter and stories and reminiscing!  I hadn't seen my friend Sarah and Andy in ages and it was so great to hug each one of them!!!!  I saw Jen the summer after Keira was born @ Sephora in South Hills but we didn't get to chat that long so it was awesome to see her too!  And Ed - we go back to high school soccer!!  Angela brought some NBB Fat Tire all the way from Chicago which was awesome!  Thanks again!  We've all stayed in contact via email and facebook and it has just been  GREAT!  I can't wait to try and get together again soon!!  Love ya guys!

The next day we went to Oglebay Zoo!  I met up w/Erika and Chrissy and their kids - who i had not met yet!  We go WAY back!  We used to watch 90210 and Melrose Place every week together! ha!  I think we started playing soccer together @ age 7-8 (maybe even earlier).....all the way to senior year!  We lost touch out of high school and reconnected through the internet a couple years ago!  I just have to say don't ever lose touch w/your childhood friends!  I've reconnected w/a lot over the last couple of years thanks to facebook/email and it just makes ya feel good!

Future Soccer Stars for SURE!!

Baby Birds!

We were hanging out one evening last week and I happen to look up and I see something falling from the tree.  Then a bird flew off!  I ran over and it was a baby bird.  I was like w-h-a-t!  I yelled for Darin and we went over to check it out.  We had to get it off the ground because all of the dogs were out!  Keira really liked it.

She was telling it to get up and trying to feed it grass!

Unfortunately, Marley got him out of the box and carried him off and he didn't make it.  She didn't bite it or anything --- I think when she dropped it--- was what did it.  It was so sad.  I was tearing up.....Keira was crying.  After dinner we went back outside and there was another one!!!

We got it off the ground and put it in a box.  Darin took care of it all weekend while I was out of town and the Mama was coming down to the box and feeding it etc.  Tuesday evening it flew off!!  So that was cool!!

Darin was very sad!  He got attached to the little birdy!  It was a tufted titmouse!  I'm glad we could save it!!  

Fun @ the Park!

Keira and I went to the park on Saturday!  It was a nice morning.  She got herself ready!  ha!

They just finished the new section which they have been upgrading.  Please tell me if this does not look like a huge tooth!  haha!  I just keep cracking up looking @ it!

She totally LOVED the rope bridge!  She went back and forth several times!  

Of course we hit up Baskin-Robbins afterwards....it has become somewhat of a tradition!  I don't mind!  hehe!  I let her pick out her own flavor and she went with:  strawberry cheesecake!

Birdhouse Billy Update!

This is an update to my Birdhouse Billy! post from last Fall.  This was the home we made for birdhouse after darin found the wood for the stand.  Well, it is now occupied!  I'm pretty sure it is a couple of house wrens.  They usually make a nest every year in our hanging ferns, but we had not gotten them yet so they made it in the birdhouse!  There are twigs and leaves coming out in a few places - they have it packed tight in there!  I can't tell if there are babies in there yet or not and I don't want to get too close so we'll just have to wait and see...I have watched the birds each take turns taking things in there.  Pretty cool.                                      Nature.                                     Love it.

Caterpillar Crazy!

Keira has always loved bugs.  She has been finding a lot of caterpillars around the yard lately.  She found a small one today and would not let it down.  We took a walk and she kept it in her hands the whole time.  Then she tried to feed it some grass.  It was cute!!

As usual, the dogs joined us.  Marley and Kona trapped a ground squirrel in the rocks.  I root for the squirrels but unfortunately Marley gets one every now and then.

Mexico Adventure!

Wow!  I survived the first week back after vacation!  I was super busy @ work and still am not fully caught up.....but it was worth it!!  We had an amazing time in Mexico!  We stayed in the area called Playacar.  It was a little over an hour south of Cancun.  It was beautiful!  The Riu Palace Mexico was excellent!  The food was wonderful, people so nice and it was just gorgeous!  Keira was a rockstar!  She did great on the plane rides and was pretty good the whole week!  She wouldn't leave my side but other than that I can't complain.  We went on a Pirate Cruise from Cancun to the Isle Majerus one night....it was really fun!  Keira danced up a storm!  Our next excursion was to Excaret!  It was AWESOME!  If you ever travel there it is a MUST do!  Breathtakingly beautiful and all natural.  We had a great time.  One day took the ferry over to Cozumel and it was sweet!  We did a jeep tour and went to an area where I got have some "me" time and snorkel!  I saw a sea turtle, barracuda and huge stingray.  All the other tropical fish as well!  It was just awesome!  Playa del Carmen rocked!  We can't wait to return!  Enjoy my slideshow!!!

Viva Mexico!

We are back safe and sound and swine flu free!  What a mess that was!!  I think the whole thing got blown up from the media and made unnecessary panic across our world.  Mexico is beautiful.  The flu happens everywhere!  We had an amazing trip and can't wait to go back.  Here are a few pics for now.....working on a slideshow so you can see what a great part of Mexico we visited!!!!

Princess Tea Party

I was reading the local newspaper online and saw an article for a Princess Tea Party about half an hour away. It was @ a park and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day!! It was gorgeous out!! Keira and I really had a blast!

She LOVED the inflatable princess castle!  She didn't love waiting in the long line and being being tempted by all the princess shoes scattered about from the kids that were having their turn.  Man oh man did she want to put the shoes on!!  I had to keep telling her no!!

Pocohontas was in the tent - but Keira had more fun hand painting EVERY color available.  

Ummmm - she liked the frog prince better than any of the Princesses! hehe!

After she had enough we walked over to the playground.  The park was really nice!  She loved going through all the tubes - and also yelling "Jenny!  Where are you Jenny!"  She is a riot!  

The place had a dog park which was pretty cool.  I do not believe there is one where we live yet.  I think every city should have one!  She loved seeing all the dogs and petting them.  

Then on to the ducks...she wanted to pet them SO BAD!  We took a nice stroll around the lake.

Now 3 days and counting!  We are leaving Saturday for Playa del Carmen, Mexico!  We are so excited!  My Dad and Robyn are leaving Thursday and we will meet them there!
